When I was a little girl my grandmother Rose used to read me a book called Zippy the Chimp. Even at that time it was held together with tape after traveling through a total of 8 grandchildren! I loved the book and in 1999 when I joined the eBay family I thought of my favorite childhood story.

At the time I was unable to get the User ID of Zippy so after trying more combinations than I care to remember I finally became Zypies! Who knew that all these years later I would open up an eBay drop-off location and have Zypies Auction Services, Inc. up in lights!

Unfortunately my grandmother passed away years ago but every day as I step into my store I think of her. I still have that very book. I safeguard it with all my treasured possessions and have read it to all my nieces and my nephew.

My 10 year old niece Rachel became my first employee and her 14 year old sister Mollie plans to work here this summer. Jessica, my 21 year old niece who recently graduated from the University of Rhode Island also stops by when she can to lend a hand!  It's wonderful how a book made famous in the early 50's is still so important to us years later.
